On a few rare occasions I lose the power assist to the breaks on hard stops. Any idea where to start with this?

Any chance there's a vac leak? Brake fade usually happens when brakes are used extensively like down hills or when we drive like Jerks. Have you confirmed its the power assist? Does your pedal go to the floor or something?

I suppose a vacuum leak is possible, I wouldn't know where to start with that. It's not brake fade, it happens on random hard stops during casual city/back road driving. The pedal doesn't drop to the floor, just stiffens up as if the car didn't have power brakes.

I would say yes something that has to do with the vacuum. either the engine, hose to the booster, or the booster itself.

Any way there's only one hose.
