Like the subject title says, there is a strange knocking sound when I turn. I only hear it when I am on the throttle while turning, if I let off and coast there is no knocking. Also, when accelerating straight there is no knocking. Its not as noticeable after the car has warmed up too. Can't tell where it coming from exactly. I've checked under the hood and the car and can't see anything that could be causing it. Any ideas?

One (or both) of your CV axles is busted. I'd replace both, if you have the money, as you will have to drain and refill the tranny, which is a PITA, to put it mildly...

Ah yes...the tick of doom. I replaced 2 cv axles on my passenger side in 2 years...this one is holding up now tho. The guy at mazda said a cv axle a year is unheard of and thought it might have been faulty axles or another part that was causing premature wear. Its been good for a few years now so..I guess it was hard driving or faulty axles...or both..lol
