So I found a sticker on my engine.. said "CNS Motors".

A quick Google search found a California company that deals with JDM imported engines. On their list is:

MAZDA PROTEGE DOHC 16V 1.8L FWD SLVR-E PROTEGE.

Could this mean that my BP is JDM? I doubt there are any differences but It was interesting to see this sticker on mine engine...

Found it in 2 places too. Both were on the rear and had "void if removed."

edit:

also found this:

I think the only advantage to buying that engine would be the mileage. JDM engines from the same model range tend to be much lower km than engines here in North America.

So it's a good chance you have a low mile engine...so that's something.

You don't by chance know if the sensors are any different? I am in need of a TPS, and on the throttle body the area where the TPS is, it's circular... not square like most I've seen...

Someone on CP said that the JDM engine has a bit more HP then the USDM ones... though he is unsure how much.
