Hei mod/cluster help

This is in my 93 GS with millenia engine. I got the Hei and blaster 2 coil in. It's working, starts right up and idles good. Problem is, my rpm gauge isn't working. I don't know if my mph gauge is working either, cause I haven't drove it yet. But anyway, is there anything in the disty area that would make my rpm's gauge not work? I'm going to look at the tranny tomorrow and see if the sensor wiggled off. But I do know it was working before I started with the mod. Any suggestions?

Definitely rpm signal comes from the ignition module. You'll need a 1K Ohm resistor inline from your new ignition module C terminal to the yellow with blue stripe (middle wire from 3 wire plug). Double check w/ the HEI diagrams.

Yes the resistor is critical to the operation of the tach.

I do have a 1K resister on the yellow wire. Let me ask a question. Since I have a 94 Ecu from a Mx6 for my Millenia engine, would the position of the tack wire change? Cause in the 95+ the tach and ignition - are switched on the plug.

I don't think it would run if you had the resistor in one of the other wires. as that would mean you had the tach wire going to the coiland the coil +ve going to the tach.

Definitely no workie that way.

The tach and ign - wires are both connect to the coil - with the 1k resistor inbetween those two wires. I'm going to switch the resistor to see if it makes a difference.
