Carbon Fiber Hood on a Black Car. Thoughts?

ok I think we can all agree that carbon fiber hoods really "pop" on off coloured cars (such as red car with black cf hood) but I have a black car and have come across a used CF hood for an amazing price, and in very good condition.

I was just wondering as to what others thought of a black CF hood on a black car?

My opinion is that cf stuff should only be on black or very dark colored cars or else it just looks cheap to people that do not know what carbon fibre stuff is.

I agree. Obviously, CF is good for taking weight off of a car, but I don't like the way it looks on a light colered car; don't like the "pop". It looks best on Gunmetal, and 2nd best on black.

If I were rich, Id have a white mx-3 with CF hood + hatch. But thats just me. While were at it, Id have doors and fenders made into CF aswell. but seeing how this is an imaginary world, lets make the whole car CF.

I dont like CF that much, but the hood + hatch on a white car is OK to me.

To answer your question, I think youll be all set with your CF on black car. And if you dont like the way it looks, paint it black to match.

I bought a shell w/ performance breaks/suspension/new clutch & new clutch slave cylinder & clutch master cylinder. w/ a straight body/interior and a CF hood for 800$ [including him swapping my motor into it]

in my opinion, a white car w/ a cf hood looks pretty straight.

A guy in my town has a 93 JDM RX7 and went from silver (cool) to white with a CF hood and a big honkin spoiler on the back. The hood has these vent things in it and it just destoys the lines of what was once a beautiful car. The front body kit is carbon as well and it really cheapins the look of the whole car. I didn't say anything to him as you all know how sensiative a guy I am regarding other peoples feelings. Carbon has it's place but it should never be used to screw with a cars natural beauty

yeah and an RX7 in good condition would have excellent re-sale. But not any more when you change the stock color (especially to white), and add a big spoiler...

Totaly agree, if you screw with a cars natural body lines it destroys what the car is ment to look like. On the other hand there have been body mods to such cars like Rx-7's that take on a look of there own and look cool in there own respective way.

And to address your question i think cf on a black car would be prime, and depending on if you have metalic or pearl paint will have a destinctive look but nothing that looks cheezy.
