hi all,

i am currently removing my v6 from is position and replacing it with a less smokey more pokey v6.

apart from the obvious cam belt, timing belt and plugs are there any other devices that are prone to fatigue on the v6. as my first mazda i am kean to find out what should be replaced seeing as the new engine is going to be out for a while.
thanks

by track project what exactly do you mean?? I hope you are planning on putting in a klze...

distributors are very prone to failure...

Better clutch, replace timing belt while it's out. Bolt on headers since you have more room, etc etc.

In addition to what's already been said:

Change the water pump while it's out
Get solid engine mounts or make yours solid with urethane etc
New driveshaft seals are a must
fuel filter (good time to do it, since it's hard to reach normally)
air filter
Any suspension work with engine and driveshafts out is easier than later, although not that hard in general
Gearbox oil change to make shifts easier (Redline MT90 works well, as does Castrol VMX80)

There's probably more stuff but that's off the top of my head at 6:30AM lol
