Ok so i cant seem to figure out why i got no voltage @ the hatch light connections. Am i testing it right? I tried going from my meter to each lead and got nothing then one from the meter to strut bolt switch the wires and still nothing... All my other lights work and i checked fuses...

You can either trace the wiring and see if there is an issue or use a test light, sometimes you do not get the best ground off strut bolts, try using the bolt that holds the rear seat down you should get a better ground off that. If that fails try a voltmeter and measure between the 2 leads for the hatch light. Also remember that the hatch light is switch operated, make sure the switch is in the on position.

Yup, so when you close the hatch the light goes off :)

sorry for the late delay but its fixed i tracked it down to the connector behind the driver passenger harness which corroded the connections which came from a hole in my wheel well so driving driving in the rain would kick water up and gravity would take it down and imagine my surprise when i removed the rear interior and noticed rust spots and mucky water
