... It started before the HEI ... Its just not sparking after it initially starts revs up than dies

well, to be super specific, the car uses the cam angle sensor (NE1 signal) for startup/cranking/super low RPM conditions, and switches over to G signal (crank signal in disty) for running conditions, but in failure of G signal, it uses the external crank position sensor.

So, check your crank position sensor. clean contacts, and resistance should be between 520 and 540 ohms, IIRC. its in the shop manuals, under B2, IIRC again.

But the most obvious thing is still a massive intake leak/VAF not plugged in!

Nothin still wont stay running... Why would it have anything to do with the CSPS if it worked fine before the hei mod :p

If you have a timing light hook it up and have someone start the car. If the light stops strobing before the engine dies you'll know that it is spark related.

Can you keep it going using the throttle?
