Ford Racing ZX2 struts

It's time to get rid of the old struts in my '93 RS. I was going to go the KYB GR2 route, but then I found these for cheaper:

Ford Racing Escort ZX2 Tokico Strut Kits
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FMS-M-18000-Z2/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Now I know that these will fit a '93 GS... And GS suspension fits on an RS with no issues... So theoretically, these Ford ZX2 struts will work on my RS with no issues right?

There is a slight modification necessary for the front upper spring perches if you use the MX-3 perches. If you use ZX-2 perches there's no mod necessary. Make sure you read the FAQ somewhere in the FAQ section first. The ZX-2 metal thrust bearings are also highly recommended versus the plastic/nylon Mx-3 ones.

just for information purposes the mx3 thrust bearings wont fit over the zx2 shaft or whatever you wana call it.
you need the zx2 thrust bearings.
id also reccomend the metal ones seeing as the plastic ones i got in the strutmount kit broke when i tried to get it around the shaft... cold days dont help much with plastic parts >_<.

ANNNNNNNNnyways. go to the wreckers and find a zx2 to pull apart. take the upper perches (guy charged me 5 bucks for the pair). and ur good to go.

Good advice. Didn't know that about the Mx-3 bearings... as I didn't even try to re-use them.

well i did buy the mx3 strut mount kits. which came with the bearings...... bearings didnt fit... soooooooo i bought the zx2 front strut mount kits (dno if the mount its'self is the same never tried)......

took the bearings out switched em and returned the zx2 strut mount kits >_< and voila :P but like i said the plastic thrust bearings suck a-- trying to install in the cold........

the one of the housings broke so ill have to replace that pretty damn fast methinks. im not driving the other mx for now.... not like itll harm it

im going to get the metal ones. i called ford though the thrust bearings themselves i think were like 50 bucks canadian....each.... cant remember they were bloody expensive though

i just installed the zx2's and H&R's on my project mx like 2 weeks ago so if you have any questions i can lend a hand :)
