coilovers

so a guy that lives by me that has an mx3 just like mine bought kyb struts cuz i have them and went cheap and bouth adj. coilovers. the cheap ebay ones. i told him i would help him put them on but i started to look at them and do you have to cut the spring perch that are on the kyb struts to put them on or am i just looking at it wrong. i have all the parts at my house trying to figure it out but i am out of ides and i dont want to cut that spring purch off unless i have to. any help or ppl that have a pic of the cheap ebay coilovers would we grate so i can put his car back together. thanks

normally they should slide down over and sit on the perch.. there may be small screws and different sized rubber o-rings used to secure the collar to the strut. But they are crap, the ride quality is not worth the looks. I blew my oe strust with cheap coils. Just toss em.

well i wouldnt run them on my car and there not on mine there on the gyus car that lives by me. there are no screews that hold them on i got the orings and have not put them on yet but the spring purch is in the way from making them sit right.

You just slip em over the body and they rest on the top of the perch, don't bother with o rings just wrap the strut body in duct tape. Seriously, works well to hold em on there snug

thanks solo ill try that. what about the parch being to big. dose that matter at all. i have come to hate the way this go together. lol

It don't matter, it will look weird, but that's just how it is unless u cut out the perch and install a ring or something.

Yeah dont waste money on em. Got them on my 92, it blew my strut through my wheel well. strut is fully expanded and is 16th of a inch from hatch window. my $.02

well i just put them on for the guy and somthing is not right. thay do not fit. at the lowest setting there at stock ride high. mx3zoom can you take a pic of yours with out the wheel on so i can see if thay are on right

Weeks to late, took them off and threw em. Its on jack stands till i replace the stuff. Can post picture of the out come :(
