since this seems like a very popular mod, i was wondering if anyone would like to comment on the easiest way of going about this as well as what is entailed in this (i.e. what someone would need to buy to complete the entire mod). Any help on this would be greatly apreciated.

----------------------------------
92 Black GS
----------------------------------

Hiya
This mod is pretty simple. I have the good fortune to have a couple car lifts at work so it was a little easier. The only other thing you need is a shift knob. I went with a Razo carbon fiber. To install you need to pull your lower dash where the radio is. Then underneath remove the bolt off the bottom of the shifter. up top on the shifter base there is a dust boot and a keeper spring that you must remove. Old one slides out...Pro shifter in. Replace keeper, put dash back together and screw the new knob on. It sure does make a difference. Especially when youre "squeezin" a couple more outta the car and tryin to keep the car under a 15. If you need pics I have a coule of underneath the car and of the shifter in the car. Have fun..
Jarid Perry
94 Blaze Red RS
14.62@99.4mph
hey,
I just got my car into the body shop, and putting the B&M short shift in, don't know how it feels, But I heard people saying that it doens't really make a difference, but I drove my friend's 91 miata, i felt that the shift is really short and really tight, very strong, and i like it, but don't know if the B&M feels the same !!

I have the B&M shifter installed in my car. The shift throws are alot shorter than stock and when I shift into 5th gear I don't hit the passangers knee.
With a short shifter you will have to apply slightly more force to shift but now the shifts are more precise and no missed gears......

------------------
Tom S.
'94 GS Sparkle Green
My MX-3: <A HREF="

i just wanted to say i finally got around to putting the pro edge shifter in my car. all i can say is DAMN!!!!. it makes a huge difference. i would recommend this mod to anyone. that annoying problem w/ hitting the passenger's knee is gone, thats nopt that big a deal but still. the shifts are so much easier and faster. so far the only downside that i've noticed (prolly cause its really new) is that when it's in reverse, it is a little hard to get out of gear, but its not a bad thing at all.
