Problem: My clock works and everything inside works fine. But the clock will not
stay set after i turn the car off. When i start the car again
the clock is back at 1:00.... Whats the deal?

History: The person who owned it before me had a crazy mad sound system installed.
It was removed when i purchased the car. Could something have been cut
or rewired wrong during the stereo installation?

The power for your radio need to come from a source that's a;ways hot. It's probably wires to the acc. power that is shut off when you turn off the car.

Most likely ROOM fuse is blown - it's in the kickpanel beside the pedals. This happens when you connect the audio wires in the wrong order.

if it was the room fuse, the clock wouldn't come on after the car is on.
my bets on daninski, probably the wiring got mixed up, just find the wire and change it over to a wire that's always hot

My green GS does this too. AFAIK, it hasn't been tampered with aside from the headunit, and I put a new one in, and I replaced the ROOM fuse as well as another one... I forget which. But the domelight didn't work, and after I replaced the ROOM, it did, but the clock still doesn't keep time. :( and its freaky! It doesn't just go back to 1:00, it picks a random number.

Not true. I've blown it installing my deck the 1st time and the clock would always turn on at 12:00 when I started the car. Also the deck wouldn't save settings. And I believe the dome lights are also affected.

I had this symptom when I first got my GS running.. My was a combo of 2 issues. One was a short in the gauge cluster. Cleaned up some corrosion on the backside element traces. (Dunno what else to call that thing LOL) Replaced all the bulbs and that seemed to take care of getting the cluster working properly. The clock would work and keep time while the key was "on" but would still lose itself when off for more than a day or two. The solution was bolting down my ECU completely. Dunno why.. dunno how.. but since I did that.. no more issue.. clock works fine. Maybe the ECU had a bad ground or inconsistent ground? Either way.. couple of things to check at least. Cheers
