I saw a pic of someone elses, but guys I talked to at work said that a PCV valve doesnt feed directly into the head of the engine...prove them wrong? yes, id like to.

It's in the valve cover, between the distributor and closest spark plug.

Keday man, its the thing sticking out of the valvecover that isn't a sparkplug wire.

Ok, i just went out and loked at it, and popped it out of the head. it looks just like a PCV valve, and it has a tuber running from it, to my intake manifold...did i find it? and please explain why there is a hose there. I read that it is for the gases that build up, it runs them back into the intake to be used again or something like that?
AND, I looked by my throttle body, and found there was a a cord unplugged from a black cylinder underneath the throttle, could that be causing my rolling idle?

screw your coworkers. We have been building communal MX-3 specific knowledge for at least 16 years.

Tell them that PCV stands for Postive Crankcase Ventilation, and its a check valve about as big as their penis, and can indeed be located on top of the front valvecover.

Yes, that is your Idle Air Control Valve and would affect your idle.

The nature of an piston OverHeadCam engine allows small ammounts of gasses to escape past piston rings, valve sleeves, and other such things. The PCV allows those gasses to escape without the vacuum created by the engine suck air from the crankcase. Also stops your dipstick from popping out and blowing oil everywhere.

Haha, just read yalls definition..and he went  "whatever"....lol you guys rock :D and about the IAC, is there anything that can effect that? once I take a pic of it I can get a positive ID of it so yall can know exactly what I am talking about. because 98% of the pics yall post, I cant see, not sure why, maybe because its photobucket and my work comps wont allow access to that site? imageshack or whatever site I can view though...so if yall can put up a pic from there, maybe i can see what you guys are talking about?

Image
Not the best quality, I enlarged it and used some MS paint to highlight parts of the engine im curious about. Fill me in? :D

you have IAC labeld wrong. that, if anything, is your VAF. Is it part of the intake system?

yes to PCV

that CAI is a WAI (warm air intake)

yes to PS
yes to brake

you can't see pics, so this is impossible.

CAI goes down into fender, below where coolant overflow tank is now.

IAC is... I cannot show you picture, but it is on bottom of throttle body.

Vaf is the airflow meter. Its the thing in the rubber of the intake that has a plug in it. 4 wire? 5?
