OK, so I just discovered a whole in the back ok my KL intake manifold. The K8 doesnt have it. its pulling suction. does it have anything to do with the egr, because when i swapped i just hooked the egr up the same as i did on the k8. also, the place where i bolted the egr on the kl is not sucking anything. whats up with all this? i just wanna pass smog so i can finally drive my car. if someone has extensive knowledge on this, i would love to talk to u on the phone because i am beyond clueless at this point. thanks

Assuming you mean the KLZE, from what I gathered, when you do the swap you need to plug the EGR since the stock K8 motor has no EGR system. I imagine a plug that has the same sized threads as the EGR could be sourced at a parts store or hardware store. Since I haven't got that far, I'm not 100 percent sure on the details, but I thought it was as simple as plugging it, and it doesn't cause any serious problems with emissions. Not sure if it throws computer codes or not, if it does, I believe there was, or still is, a chip available for doing the swap to the KLZE. The chip helps eliminate certain computer codes, changes rev limiter, sets the cpu at the proper specs for the KLZE swap. Again, I'm not 100 percent, this is just what I got from my experience reading various info.

If you have a ze and have the egr hooked up to the block allready, its as simple as getting a usdm millenia intake manifold. I belive that is the one you want with the square ports and also a place to route egr. With this setup I would recommend the probinator chip so it will control the egr function and wont throw egr codes on your dash.

I assume studboy has a klde which has a large vacuum opening in the intake behind the throttle body - almost 1". This is normally connected to the IAC on the bottom of the throttle body by a short rubber tube.

If you are using a K8 or KLZE throttle body the IAC probably does not have the matching vacuum port so you would just cap the opening on the intake.
