Hey guys just as the cold weather starts the weird sounds start coming haha. So, on idle I can hear a loud scratching sound coming from the engine (timing belt/water pump belt?). What could it be and how do I check to see what it really is?
Also, when I am holding down the gas pedal, I can hear a really high pitch whine, what could that be?
Please help out! thanks

Could be your accessory belt pulley bearing, meant to cause a scratching noise.
