Spark is good, but spark at the correct moment is what you really want. Check that #1Cyl is at TDC when it should be. Check that the rotor is pointing at #1 when #1 is at TDC.

Turn the crankshaft until the timing marks on the pulley line up. At that point the #1 piston will either be at TDC compression or TDC exhaust. Remove the #1 spark plug and put your finger over the hole as you crank it around and you will feel the compression when you’re on the compression stroke. Once you know your at TDC on the compression stroke remove the disty cap an you should see the rotor pointed at the #1 pin on the disty.

If you can’t find the compression stroke there’s a good chance the timing belt in that engine has skipped and the valves are not closing at the right time. In that case, the spark is coming at the right time but the engine is timed wrong.

OR...the belt could have broken or stripped. In which case the cams are not turning at all which you can verify by cranking the engine over with the disty cap off. If it isn't turning your cams aren't turning.

it's possible but very unlikely. I've seen it done, but they must have had a beeotch of a time getting it on that way. Worth checking though.

Going back to a previous post, when I installed my ZE I accidentally installed the fuel lines backwards. I never heard the fuel pump running because the pressure side was blocked by the FPR and the pump would immediately cut out because it would immediately pressure up. I jumpered the FP so I knew it was running and removed the pressure side hose and nothing was coming out...because it was actually the return hose. Switched them around and it fired immediately.
