Trying to finish up my factory cruise control swap into my RS, and all my wiring and parts seem fine. Only thing I'm suspicious of is the module.

So has anybody had issues with their cruise module? There are no relevant search topics.

I have one that doesn't work... haven't had time to test it out though... I suspect the vacuum...

remember those parts are old just like everything else... dunno how you could test the module - did you look in the BETM section?

The cruise button on the steering wheel is very problem prone. Never heard of the modual being a problem.

Yeah... There's a step-by-step troubleshooting procedure. The switches on the steering wheel weren't working but I took them apart and now they show the proper resistances when pressed, that was an easy fix.

The module actually has a diagnostic system just like the ECU diagnostic connector, where it can throw trouble codes. But i can't even get it to enter the mode.

There's a procedure for testing the vacuum actuator under the hood by jumping/powering/grounding certain pins belonging to the actuator, and it seems to work (not a good idea to test it with the linkage cable still attached to the pedal cuz it redlines the engine in about half a second).


I opened up the cruise module tonight because I'd read online that certain car manufacturers had modules that were prone to failure and it doesn't look bad at all. 1 or 2 points on the PCB look a bit corroded, but that't it.

My resume Accel doesn't work, almost like it's glued, it's solid. I've owned 3 gs mx3's and never had a problem with the cruise module itself.

Yeah... I've tried 3 different modules now, 2 different neutral switches, 2 brake switches. I'm sure there's a wiring issue.

The set accel button was really sticky on both of my MX3s but the cruise worked ok

I'm on my second GS, never been able to make cruise control work
