I'm at around 5 or 6 grand without the car. and if you want to include the parts sitting my room another 3000(thats not even close to what i need for the rest of JUST the turbo going into the car)

lol, this is such a horrible question to ask. ive got over 3 grand of motor rebuild parts on a stand beside me, another 4 at the shop, 6500 for the car 4 years ago. parts bought over the time as well.... 2x klze, tranny parts, suspension set up, as well as air bag kit sitting around, 2 hoods, 2 aftermarket body kits, rims and rubber, untold amounts of car parts from about 5 scrapped mx3's, not to mention being part owner of around 23 mx3's over the last five years. i dont even know what i have anymore, to top it off im repainting my 323 klze with a s/c......

But the point is: Brand new 130HP, 18 year old engine w/ 3_mi/gal. Beats the crap out of anything else in that price range. 6k for the reliability of a brand new engine? Plus its sexy? plus its not that slow?

I'd have to say my last MX-3 was the cheapest build. I spent $500 on the car with full exhaust, $700 for the KLZE, $300 for the clutch, $300 for the carbon fiber hood, $600 for MSnS, $? for new tires, $70 for HEI things, about $60 for CAI, and thats roughly it.

I dont wanna get into the other 3 MX-3s or my RX-7 that I'm currently building. I'm up to about $18,000 in a year into the RX-7 including the price of the car. And thats after getting a crackhead deal on the car, 48,000 original miles and only $9500. Sadly, I'm looking into at least another $15,000 to get the car where I ultimately want it. Expensive hobby we all have here, no matter what car we decide on building.

That's a great deal on both of those cars. Did you get ¼ mile times, or dyno results for the MX-3?
I just did a dyno day that was sponsered by RX-7.com, or just a guy from there, and it rekindled my feelings for the FD.. Maybe one day I'll have one.
There was a guy in an RX-8, on his 3rd motor from the factory because they kept falling apart. It was brand new, and he got the same WHP as me.

$1200 on the car in great shape.
$5000 - $7000 on a B6 engine swap (lower kilometers and better condition than the car came with), KYBGR2 struts, BG 2" lowering springs, mounts, short throw, Motegi MR7 17" rims, ZR 40 series low profile tires, Ford Probe 2.0L header, full custom 2.25" exhaust, carbon tails, red pearl paint, short ram intake, new ball joints, new rear sway bar links, all new drilled rotors, Hawk brake pads, drums, brake shoes, leather boot, all window tinted, sub box, two 12" subs, Alpine deck, Alpine speakers, Sony front speakers, sub and speaker wiring, front and rear upper strut bars, engine gaskets, brake lines and hoses, new clutch kit, plugs, ignition wires, misc. maintenance stuff and alot more i cant remember and the list is still growing.

in the works: new dished rims, new ZR rated tires, new candy apple red paint, custom hood, custom rear hatch, custom fiberglasses sub enclosure, turbo and BP engine swap, body kit thats clean looking, and more things. the list is huge.

I counted basically all maintenance on my list, half the stuff I did was because the car was falling apart and those things NEEDED to be replaced.
