Rebuilt heads and Blocks on Ebay

I've seen two companies selling blocks and heads rebuilt on ebay. Anyone ever use them? Their prices seems quite reasonable.

I was considering getting some K8 heads to compliment my new block. Unfortunately my block is a K8 but it's brand new from mazda. Always wondered what a brand new K8 would feel like. I do have a ZE in currently.

somebody at the mx3 meet im not sure his name but he bored out his k8 to a 2.0 using the 2.0 kf pistons. he says its pretty quick. would be cool to boost that too, lots of boost.....

is this guys car Orange. I think I met him at the performance World show and he said to me it was a k8 with some minor port work so it was about 2.0L sounded pretty dumb to me because you won't gain .2L from porting.

Yep Dale has the Orange one that was at performance world in March. He is not on here at all I think. But he comes out to the meets now from the facebook group! Really nice engine all chromed and stuff!

thats a horrible price!, lol even if it was for both it sucks

the shop I take engine parts to charged me 120 CDN each head for the exact same thing, clean, resurface, pressure check and 3 angle valve job.
And 3 angle valve jobs are not performance at all, its just a stock valve job. they even threw bronze valve guides in my heads for no extra charge.

Yeah thats the most redic price ever you can buy a ze for the price of those 2 heads LOL.

MAYBE if they came w/ oversized valves and a titanium valvetrain...maybe.

that does seem a bit high. I think my buddy paid $200 range to have high 318 heads rebuilt (both of them)

They also come with a $100 core charge with the shipping. So add $100 unless you planned on shipping yours back, which would prob cost around 100 anyway, lol.

I see. Yeah I have not gotten many quotes here, I guess it couldn't cost that much for a shop to do it locally for me. I hope not lol

Head work depends on the condition. If all you need is the seats done it can be pretty reasonable but if all your guides are shot, valves are cracked or burnt your price goes up substantially. If you have to install many new seats you might not find the Ebay price that unreasonable.
