Trick to make ebay turbos last a bit longer
Posted: April 18th, 2009, 3:38 am
ok, so these turbos I assume dont last as long as a garret, because they have cheap oil seals and bearings. but I call them the disposable turbos, as they do last a pretty good while, my last one lasted me over a year with alot of beating, I removed it to try a bigger a/r so I still have it as a spare, anywho here are the pics on how I made my restrictor.
The ebay turbos will die pretty fast with our stock oil pressure, so to fix it all you do is regulate, not block but regulate the oil.
The ebay oil restrictors are made of alluminium and will get damaged fast if youover tighten.

There is a small piece of cardboard there because the copper fittings were banging against the intake and it was denting it.
