This just started happening to me as the gas tank was nearly empty car would hesitate as I drove it, cutting out on acceleration then returning to normal. Couple tanks ago Ive put in some injector cleaner in it. Ive filled up today and hopefully that was just some air/moisture in fuel line. If it doesn't clear Im not sure what to do first, could be a number of things.

If you get to a stop sign & it stalls, but starts right up after a bit, its probably fuel filter. Change your fuel filter & add some gas line antifreeze (in case of water in gas). Fill her up with super

cheap gas-bad run mx-3

Sry, if it only acts up when tank is low, little screen on gas tank pickup or pickup, maybe fuel pump or gas cap ?

Under back seat, easy access.

Yeah, just replaced mine while the engine was out. That's it. Depending on your intake setup, that thing could be the death of your knuckles. Total PITA.
:D

that's the one that sits by the tank or the one by the engine bay? I should replace both.

That's the one under your hood.
By the one in your tank, do you mean the sock filter on the pump... or is there another one in line?

Mx-3 is supposed to have 2, one in the tank and one in engine bay.

I d do the 1 under the hood first & see if it works. If not move along to the tank. Make sure you know the procedure so you dont spray gas all over.
Bad time for a smoke.

wouldn't it make sense that one in the tank would get clogged first.
After thinking about it would a VRIS solenoid cause something like this?

I had something similar and assumed it was water in my fuel... my car would shut off when I turned right... after several tanks it would not cut off until I got lower like under a quarter tank... i finally used a product called HEET to remove the water and now I haven't had the issue since.

but I would also check your fuel filter too (kind of under the batter in the engine bay)... they can get really nasty

Bad gas/water can cause all sorts of grief. In my experience your main (cannister) fuel filtre causes trouble more often than the one in the tank.

Maybe because it picks up finer particles fron your fuel. Also the cannister has a scheduled maintenace swap & the tank one doesnt on most vehicles.
