Quick KL Swap question

Post by Redline322 »

Well, after searching for the last few days with no luck, I thought I'd just go ahead and ask. I have a 93 GS and there's a junkyard nearby that has 3 v6 626s but 2 are from 96 and 1 is from 97 which should make them obdII. I can get whatever motor I want for $300 or the whole wiring harness, ecu and vaf for $400. The question is should I get just the motor, leave my main harness obdI and look for another ecu and vaf somewhere else and change the sensors over from my k8? Or should I use the obdII wiring, but will that cause an issue with anything else in the car? Thanks

Get the motor, use your stock MX3 sensors where needed, and source a KL ECU/VAF from an OBD1 KL car when you can find it.

I wouldn't even consider using the OBD2 wiring.
