Mazda V8's?

This is just a random question that popped into my mind a few days ago that I can't seem to find the answer to. Did Mazda ever make a V8 motor? I've never heard of a Mazda car with one so far.

They don't make the bigger v6's either. Ford design. Small ford 4cyls are Maz design.

I assume you're talking about the AJ Duratec 30s in the first gen 6s' and Tributes? Or the 3.7L they stepped up to in the second gen 6s'.

I don't know for sure. I don't keep up with many cars. I know that many for 4 cyls are actually Mazda motors with a Ford logo (there was actually a motor where you could unscrew the 'ford' plate from the VC and it said 'mazda' underneath) and that some of hte v6's (not sure which, or which generation) are all ford motors. trib/escape for one.

Yea I know the 3.0 Duratecs are Ford, what about the 4.0L engine in the B4000 pickup truck?

Escape Tribute - Ford
Ranger/B-Series - Ford
Mazda6 - Ford with Mazda Head

Mazda never went with large displacement, they went with the kinds that most didn't

Turbo 4cyl
Smallest V6
Miller-Cycle Supercharged
Comprex Supercharged Diesel
Rotary
Turbo Rotary

They do things differently

However, they did have a V12 planned with their Amati line

Does a three-rotor count as a V9? :)

Lol well a rotary isn't a V anything cause it's not a V type engine.

What a rotary is is simply badass. Nuff said

Speaking of V8s, I saw 2 Hayabusa engines put together for a V8. It was awesome.
I found it: http://www.inside-auto.com/watch/228869 ... nterprises" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Well you could always throw in the ls1 FDs... an awful waste of an rx7 but an incredibly fast and reliable car at that point!

They made a demo car didn't they? Quick, Ryan and Mooneggs need to team up and research the hell out of it... Chances are, in 6 months they'd have on in a car... ;o I wish, that would completely turn my world upside down, in a good way of course.
