starting but not for long

kk so i went to start my car today after changing the valve cover gasket and doing an hei mod without the external coil and it sarted it was nice to hear after so long but it was short lived it jumpoed right up to 2 thousand rpms but then drop and shut off and when i add gas it just does it faster it only ever last like a secand or two then shuts off??? at this oint im pissed i want my car back any ideas on the problem????????????
