Just wondering if the rear defrost in our cars just take a while to warm up or is mine lacking some PUNCH. It does work. It's just that i drove a toyota and about 30 seconds after turning on it's rear defrost, the snow started melting. Mine will take about 5 minutes or so.

94 base model 1.8L

Thanks,

Chris

The elements on the rear window become less effective with age.

not sure about that. I had 88 civic dx and it's defrost worked like an iron compared to my mx-3.

Ya, the 626 and the Mx-3's rear defrost never were quick for me...

Mine's a little slow. If I brush off all snow and let it melt minor ice buildup it's about 10 minutes before any useful visibility (off a cold start). One of the lines is broken though, not sure if that would reduce effectiveness of the rest.

I also vote mine sucks.

But its so cold here today, I have differnet levels of 'freeze' on the inside of the windsheild, created by driving for slowly shortening periods of time....

I don't blame it for not working. I felt like I was driving on square tires this morning. It turns out it was just my struts, frozen solid.

But yeah, thankfully the little hatch glass doesn't frost up.
