Is it possible to fit a Ford Probe GT motor into a 1993 V6 Mazda MX-3? I have heard it is one of the easiest swaps but I wasnt sure.

Dude...

All K series engines are mechanically interchangeable. All trannies mated to v6 engines are also interchangeable because of that fact.

Same goes for B series and their trannies.

Thanks for the fast reply! So its that simple to upgrade from a 1.8 to a 2.5?
If I switch my motor do I have to switch my tranny too, even if its a 5 speed?

No, keep your tranny... unless you want to change it. Gosh man, just peek at the v6 FAQ section. Hundreds of v6 swaps have taken place.

There are gobs of swap information on this site, plenty of it in the FAQ. Swapping a 165/170hp KLDE is the same as the 198hp KLZE, which is literally the exact same as a K8, it fits like stock, just need to play around a bit with the vacuum lines if using the KL in intake manifold, but that's really a non-issue.

The only difference with putting a KL is that you'll need a better clutch to handle the torque (search on that) and a proper ECU and/or VAF combo (search) so the motor runs the best and efficient. Also while the motor is out, there's a whole wack of preventative maintenance things that should be done (search) to keep your car reliable.

Yeah if you think you can swap another 1.8L engine in, there's no reason you can't put a 2.5L engine in.
