I started my driving career with a minivan. I then got a 2nd minivan after my first one died...

Then I got my first mx3 almost 2 years ago now. It was a 95 RS, so it didn't have alot of power, but it was alot faster than a 4cyl 3 speed minivan. I've gotten a few tickets, but not for anything crazy - I don't like to drive fast illegaly, what I really like is acceleration. I get a kick out of on/off ramps to the highway. I always push vehicles to their acceleration limits when merging because its a rush for me and it's legal to accelerate to driving speed, so who says I can't drive like a granny then punch it once in a while.

I've had my ZE for only a couple months now and its hella fun. I take it east through town and am in either 4th or 5th when cruising at 30-35 so I don't make a scene. I don't drive it to redline most of the time and I've never drag raced or anything, but now I feel like I'm used to the power and it doesn't feel as fast anymore. I don't think anything is wrong with the car or engine, because I drive my girlfriends civic and I KNOW my car has lots more balls to it.

Does a lightweight flywheel add a bit of an acceleration kick? I know it's supposed to rev fast and technically make it accelerate faster, but is it noticable? I'm not about to put a turbo on my car or anything because I'm a student and am not rich enough for that. I was also thinking about making a "quick release" thingy for my seat so I can hit a button and my seat would slide freely until hitting the backmost position where it would lock in place...that way when I accelerated my seat would fly back a little and increase the feeling of acceleration! LOL...I would have to see if it'd be safe.

Too bad there isn't a track around here...I really want to throw my car around some turns and I know that would abate the feeling for awhile.

The things I've noticed with acceleration in my car (probably more psychological than anything) but it FEELS faster or maybe it's just better throttle response

4. maybe do a tune up? new plugs, wires, fuel filter?

I can say that I relate to your complaint but I used to switch between the fast car and the slow car and I could feel a big difference... now that I have 2 klze's I may feel the way you do soon enough...

I get used to power, too, and even question my vehicles. I had a superbike, and even got a little complacent with it, and can't help comparing everything to the way it felt, which, you can't compare ANY car to. Just upgrade something whenever you start to feel bored (every few months), as you can afford. Making it louder gives a feel of power, too (That's why there are SO many fartcans out there).. Find a safe place to open it up once in a while. I like to go to big empty parking lots once in a while, not for drag, but for cornering, which is what my car is all about.
By the way, speaking about upgrading, and not having alot of mony, I'm the man for cheap, effective upgrades, if you have any questions.

No matter what you do to the car it will feel slow again later. Its just you getting used to the power. My ZE used to feel fast as hell and then after awhile it felt so slow that I didnt wanna drive it around anymore without turboing it. Then I bought the RX7 and it felt great for 2 weeks or so. Then it got too slow and I modded it and got 308whp from it. Now its too slow again so its in my driveway getting switched to non-sequential twins at 16psi and the rest of the bolt-ons that it didnt have already. Should make about 360-370whp and keep me happy until the spring I guess. Then its going for the single turbo treatment and some real power.

It happens. You just need to take the car into legit racing venues, hone your skills and push your car. There's more than to just feeling of being pined back into your seat, trust me. Yes my ZE did feel slower, and maybe even got slow over the years, but my ZE has given me 4 years of good fun
