I'm wanting to paint my interior...help?

Post by mx3-2nv »

yeah, i've seen quite a few people do this and i think i want to try to do it. i think i'm gonna go with dark red.
what do i need to use and whats the process i need to go through? i really dont know what i'm doing but when i start doing it i can figure it pretty well i'm sure.
i just dont know what kinda paint to use, i've heard some people say use vinal paint, then some say use dye?
idk, but i dont want it shinny, just the same finish as it is now, just a different color.
thanks 8)

i did mine, turned out amazing! people still don't believe that i painted it.

I went to walmart and bought i think around 3 or 4 cans or Krylon vinal spray paint. made very very very thin coats, just a very quick spray over top of it from one side to the other. Also i waited around 30 seconds between each spray. if you get too much on it, the paint will puddle up and you will be able to see that in the end result. just make very thin coats and wait a while between a coat and you will be fine. i lost count after around 20 or so coats.

Take your time and you will love the end result. Make sure you follow the directions like its the LAW too!

did you clean it up like with alcohol or something to get the stuff like armor all off. i would think it would hurt the paint.

water and mild detergent (dish soap) worked for me. I think Krylon is pretty forgiving.

If you read entirely what he said, he let it dry 30 secs per coat, which would be 10 minutes of waiting all combined.

Berry clark, when yoy did yours, was it shiney?
i would think that clear coat would shine it up a little.
