Autos are sheet. Do manual swap. Pull one from junkers with all needed parts for cheap. You can use any F or G series tranny with a 4 cyl bell housing. (escort, protege Lx/gt ,mx3, 626, mx6, probe...) There may be little differnece like plug loaction or something, so safest bet is sticking to SOHC mx3 trannies. Its been done lots, seach some.

Well guys have bolted their stock tranny to the BP, so why wouldn't the B6 bolt to the BP tranny?
Mechanical/digital speedo cable issue will most likely arise, depends on year, and I don't know which ones... Thats not so hard, but you need an digital cluster, I believe. Idk if you can just put the mechanical into the digital tranny, it would just be the speedo gear to change, right?

For simplicity's sake, take an tranny from the same year, and an MX3. then its guaranteed to work. Remember shift linkage and all the pedal related stuff... check out your local scrap yards.

get a 5 spd out of a escort GT its probably the stronger of the trannies for use in a mx3. Its a g series and they usually are pretty easy to find since not to many people look for a escort gt to get 1 from, so long as its a 91-96 escort GT. It has the dohc bp engine in it, even has bp stamped in the block under the distributor area.
