HEI Mod?

Post by Gods Father »

ok heres the question...im installing my KL-ZE and i came across the distributor and the wirings not gonna happen...so i figured i could use my K8 disty(is this correct?) but then i remember HEI mod... i dont NEED the hei mod to make the K8 disty work with my KLZE right? and is there any way to just use the KLZE disty? ive searched and read plenty of things on the hei but it just seems like its all info for people who already know what its all about just how to do it...even the FAQ...i know its cause the K8 distributor sucks but i just dont get how it all works...i just need those couple questions answered =] thanks any other info would be cool....

Just read through the topics a few times, at first I had no idea what it did or why you would do it, but now I understand everything perfectly. It's actually pretty simple.

Have you read this: http://www.clubprotege.com/wil/howto/hei/index.htm?

There is a how to that Wytbishop wrote. It's for doing HEI w/ a ZE disty.

With a ZE disty, you do however NEED an external coil. Figured I'd mention it in case that little detail was overlooked.

Yes and if and when you read that thread of mine, note that Mooneggs was right, you do have to install the blaster 2 coil upright or it will die...as mine did.
