Don't say there's no way to tell, obviously there is not just from looking but I do know for a fact how much it's done, so guess away!

I only guess high because you posted it here, and I think there is a alternate reason for it

I'm with you on this part, but it looks like really low miles, almost no wear. That's I love about Mazdas. I'd like to see the cylinders.

I would say 225-300,000 KM's

Guess the mileage on this:

Original has around 125 thousand


second one, aaround 50 - 80 thousand miles

first one 220,000 miles

second one 36,000 miles

you guys are guessing less miles on the one with visible cam wear. It looks like the first one didn't have regular oil changes with good oil, but has low miles, or was babied, while it looks like the opposite with the other.

Cam wear is not always indicative of mileage or oil changes. Different oil can cause the wear and the motor proly hasnt been start in some time.. its just sitting in my room. I will put it in and run some oil through it and it will look good as new

True, and yours looks like a ZE, so probably low miles.

Yea seems to be.. I will run it and see. The pistons are nice and clean still from what I can see... I guess the angle of the pic and the flash can cause you to see the wear marks abit more. Should be a gooder.

I was thinking it could be the angle. It's hard to tell stuff from pictures.

You can see mild cam wear in the first engine. I'm guessing because of the topic the milleage is somewhere high up there, so I'm guessing 210,000 miles.
