v6 alternator in 4cly

Post by seboroth »

Hey guys, I was searching through the forums and saw someone that said you can put a v6 alternator in a 4cly if you swap pullys. I'm just wondering if anyone else did this and if there were any adverse effects. I'd like to do this because the v6 one I think is a 90 amp and the 4 cly is a 60 amp. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

I have done it recently too. No problems and it seems to help resolve a resolve a problem I have been having with breaking alternator belts.
The only thing different between the two is you have to put the long bolt in the bottom in from the front instead of the back..
You may also need a slightly longer bolt and possibly a nut for the bottom bolt.
My bolt was not long enough by like 1/4 inch, and I needed to put a nut on the end of it.
