So its time to smog the car and like the other guys with this engine I am having all sorts of little problems with it. Now that i got it running about right, (or so I thought) I take it to get it smogged and my results from just a quick sniff test are....

Idle

HC = 484 - 120 to pass

CO = 9.68% - 1% to pass

those are the mains ones there and yes I do have a cat on it

I dont really know whats going on as my klze passed with no problems on the same setup - the fact that my cat is back another foot or so because of my cutout

Both the klze computer and the k8 computer gave me the same super high readings....

Any suggestions

KFZE = KFZE ecu (or chipped ecu, or use an AFC)

the easiest mod to make the kfze pass, Take 100 dollars, find a guy and, pay to pass lol no seriously

I agree here. I changed from k8 to KFZE ecu , no more burnt smell , like you know , when you burn your shoe or smthing like that.

How much are these KFZE ECUs?

To the thread maker, for one, did you do the EGR mod?

lol dont check probetalk for anything about the kfze as NO ONE HAS THEM the top KFZE guys are on this forum. As for the cost, i paid about 230 for mine shipped then i sold it to maryus for 180 i believe?
