Honestly... Save yourself some money. I've had B&M and quite a few knock off's. It goes like this...

B&M = Fiddy = every other shifter you see that looks the same as this.

B&M is the real thing. Fiddy is a knock off of B&M, and so are all those other cheap shifters on ebay. I've measured the B&M and the knock off's on ebay, and they are the exact same. length, height, width... all the same.

If you like this design, just get one of the 20 or 30 dollar shifters on ebay. btw, before you bring up quality, they are made with the same metal also.

I personally am about to put a civic shifter in my mx-3 and see if there is a better difference with it. There was a write up on it on another forum but i could never find it. I'll do a write up for you guys if i have any luck with it.

Check out pacesetter's shifter also, its nice. You can adjust the height/through distance to whatever you like. Its a bit more then the B&M .. well at least it was 5 years ago or so.. I dont know about now.

TWM is an awsome shifter as well. If i were you, I'd get the pacesetter or the TWM.

from my experience, get the pacesetter! I bought a B&M originally and the throw just isn't low enough for my style...

I bought a pacesetter that was $50 cheaper than the B&M and love it!!! I have it in both cars... I adjusted it so low in the fast car (80%) when I got my custom exhaust they routed it around the shifter :welder:

Yeah, where is the best place to buy pacesetter, and whats the price? I'm thinking about trying it out if they shift like a civic. in a honda civic, with a short shifter, there feels like a 1/4 play before your in another gear below. its awsome feeling. does pacesetter give that feel?

well a couple of years ago I bought from here, but it looks like they only have the mx-6 shifter available.

This is direct from pacesetter's web site with the actual part number...

good luck finding one

Ok, let me ask you this.
It only shows the pivot ball. it doesnt come with the surround?
Are you suppose to use the white plastic surround from the stock shifter?

Just in case anybody is searching in the future, I have this shifter installed on my car. I bough it for something like 50 or 60 bucks. It is very well built and feels solid. The throw is noticeably shorter but the shifter itself does not sit that much lower as someone already remarked. It sits only about an inch or so lower. I was thinking of modifying mine a little bit, but I am still debating with myself. Overall, it seems to be high quality stuff but it does not sit as low as some others based on what I have seen around the forums.
