Beginning Soundproofing (finally!)

So it finally warmed up to 50 today so I figured it'd be a good time to pull out the ol' b-quiet I bought way back when, and start laying it.

It reminded me of my old felt-roofing days... except I actually enjoyed this, haha!

I was fairly comfortable through the afternoon, it was warm enough throughout the day...

but late afternoon it started to get real cold and windy, so I had to close the hatch to keep warm, but I was still comfortable to keep working.

Bam. Hatch closed. What the heck? You could fit like a party of five up in here! it's like, little car on the outside, equipped with a spacial vortex dimension compressor, expands 3x inside!

Looks good. I'll be doing the samething when every my sound destroyer mate gets here. Its funny how the first thing you order is alway the last thing to come. What kind of setuo do you have in your car?

i'm running two polk MOMO amps, 2 channel, one to the front Polk MoMo components (MMC6500?) and one to a 10" MOMO sub.
The sub only needs a small enclosure so I keep a lot of trunk space open (important for my DD)

Here is how I did my setup. Nothing spectacular, but clean and simple.

Nice. I planned to use those polk 6500 to but they where damaged in shipping. So now I'm waiting on a refund becasue they can't get another set. So i'm back in the market for some new door speaker. May still get some if i can get them for around the same price.

SuperK see those vents in the back that you did not dynamat over? go over them bud with 2-3 layers, you'' gain about 1.5db's, not to mention they destroy SQ. I found them originally due to an annoying sound pre dynamat.

are you talking about the big holes on the side walls? the ones that let you pointlessly access the little side markers?

http://www.mx-3.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.ph ... a&start=15" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

129 per each 50 sq ft roll

119 for 2 rolls (plus save on the shipping discount)

and they have an 8% off sale.

I used two rolls doing my trunk and door panels.
If you're doing it right, might need 3 :(

Does this material help for road noise?

Yes. Isolate the door panels well.
