This might work for you MX3 people/ EC shares the same hubs as BG

Its too dark to fit this to the car, so no car pics

This ONLY applies 4 stud BG or BA models, GTR BG unknown, BA V6 will need some playing with different rotor sizes

Image

So far i have found two options for this upgrade
one requires cutting of stuff
the other is bolt on

first the parts for option 1 ( No cutting of stuff)

BA V6 hubs complete
BG 4 cly 4 stud wheel bearings and 4 stud centers x 2
Rotors; Your choice of either Slotted/drilled BG GTX/ Astina GT rotors or NB8 MX5/Miata rotors
Calipers; BJ series wagon Subaru Legacy GT turbo (2pot)
Brake brackets; Mazda GD 626/TX5/Probe
Brake pads; as above, but use some Bendix DB1114 or something better than OEM
Brake lines; your choice of either OEM/Braided etc for BG models

First Push out the V6 5 stud Center, push in the 4 stud center
Paint/bling up the calipers from the Subi/Mazda combo

Take note of the numbers on the caliper " AD602T " this may have changed during the Subi models, but you need the one with 1 bolt , not 2

the orange brings out the color in my eyes :P , best of all NO cutting :P , just bolt it to the V6 hubs

drop new pads in
Fit new rotors, and bolt together

removal of old setup from ya car, Bolt in the above setup, check steering arm lengths are ok, bleed them brakes, run/ bed pads in ,, DONE

Option two (cutting, swearing, beer/bourbons, & time)

Parts for Option 2

BA V6 hubs complete
BG 4 cly 4 stud wheel bearings and 4 stud centers x 2
Rotors; Your choice of either Slotted/drilled BG GTX/ Astina GT rotors or NB8 MX5/Miata rotors
Calipers; T series Mazda Millenia/Xedos 9 S/C or 2.5 V6 (2pot)
Brake brackets; As above
Brake pads; as above, but use some Bendix DB1326 or something better than OEM
Brake lines; your choice of either OEM or Braided etc for BG models

Take note of the caliper cast numbers "AD43T" and 2 bolt arrangement

You need to cut back this much off the caliper bracket, tiny amounts off the hubs, casting line was in my way on 1 hub, other was ok

Image

The bolt holes in the V6 hub needs to be drilled out 2mm to fit the millenia bolts, 14mm i think? i didnt do that bit
Image

the dust sheild? also needs a tiny amount chopped off, 2mm as it hits the corner of the bracket

Strangely but there is NO overlap on the Millenia pad when using stock Astina GT rotors???

Passes the 14" wheel test, i started to laugh when this fitted

removal of old setup from ya car, Bolt in the above setup, check steering arm lengths are ok, bleed them brakes, run/ bed pads in ,, DONE

I agree, I originally read/saw this on clubprotege...thanks for sharing it here...something else to add to the never-ending "to-do" list.

I want to hear how this works out; improves braking on our cars. Worth doing if you've already upgraded to something like hawk hps?

What is the diameter of the rotors? Same as the Mx-3?

wait aren't mx-3 rotors stock 254? so moving up to a 257 doesn't seem worth the work, but you mentioned not having the 270s yet. can you fit 270s in there with pads that will cover the face of the rotors? if so then it seems worth it. The hard part would be getting the knuckles here..... please please give us some info especially have you driven on these yet?

ideally i'm looking for something between 280-305mm but i'd be willing to move to 270mm if it was two-pot with the pads making a lot of coverage... and how is this not a sticky creating more discussion?!

If we can fit the calipers and the brake caliper braket with those mods and the wheel hub and bearing r also interchangable..... I wonder what it would take to fit a set of ksport brake kits...

well the reason i was thinking about the probe/mx6/626 kit is because i thought they make front and rear upgrade while there isnt a rear upgrade for mx3 rears...

Perhaps as a help to others

I used the Mx5 NB/FL rear brake disks.
Used the standard mx3 e-brake cable and created a small bracket to be able to sue it.
