clutch pedal feel

Post by lowflyinmx3 »

I bought a 94 gs about 2 weeks back with a bad rubber clutch line. I got the part in monday and got her up and running. The pedal feels much nicer now but it's still sloppier than my old rs. I bled the line by myself and I was wondering if I bled the line while someone is on the pedal would that help with the feel? Or is the stiffiness also affect by the pressure plate? Thanks

I got a one man bleeder kit from the auto parts store that works well if you don't have a second person... you can also adjust the pedal by a nut to where it engages...

the feel will vary unless you have the exact same clutch and stuff...

ok thanks. I was just curious because I like a stiffer feel. It's got 225000 km's on the original clutch so when I replace it I hope I'll get a better feel. I know about adjusting my engaging point, I'm thinking about doing that as I occasionally hear the synchros grind on shift changes. Thanks mooneggs.

You know, I had my gear grinding for years, and though it was that common problem with our gearboxes, especially since it was 3rd gear so I start the custom one. Over the summer, my slave died, and they replaced it and my gears stopped grinding, too bad I panicked cause I was inthe middle lane in rush hour traffic and screw up 4th gear pretty good :S No matter, my new trans is hopefully just a few weeks away...just found out I need bearing races yesterday so I'm in the midst of ordering those now.

i was thinking it maybe a slave cylinder problem too, but i checked the work reciepts from the previous owner and they had it replaced not even a month before i bought it. and I've owned if for 3 weeks so I wouldn't think thats a problem. I just don't like the occasional empty THUNK sound I get when i shift gears sometimes.
