Hello Everyone ! Im Haveing a bit of trouble with my 94 1.6L DOHC Motor right now and could use some help. I have noticed sometimes my engine will pull strong with only light throttle input and other times it will have a bit of a drag kinda like its not getting fuel. Fuel economy is good but not at its best right now about 28mpg. I have properly gapped bosh platinum 2 spark plugs, Magnacore 8.5mm wires, NEW distributor, new fuel pump/Filter , CAI , Header-with full exhaust, New O2 sensor (TESTED) , new coolant temp sensor, timing set at about 16 degrees using 93 octane. No Vacumme leaks. Symtoms are popping did this on previous engine) No missing from exhaust even revved at 1,500 rpm's. latley ive been hearing popping/backfiring from exhaust while downshifting. Sometime rearly ill get hestition from standstill. Oh and poping noise is from intake side only its a deep thuding sound, I dont think Cam timeing is off because it idles very smothly and pulls very strong when running good. I did buy fuel injectors used,so im starting to wander about them, Could TPS or FPR be the causes of thease symptoms ? Or maybe Fuel injectors ? Any input or ideas would be appreasheaded. Thanks

TPS could definitely be a culprit. Also check for minute fuel leaks - that was causing pressure loss and hence power loss in my car. Is it burning oil - even slightly? Mine pumps oil through the crank case tubes under heavy load which gets sucked into the intake and makes the AFR go crazy - it also gummed up the injectors - i have a temporary catch can setup now and it seems to be working good....

Also check & clean all ground points and add more.....

If you suspect fuel problems - one way to check might be to get an electronic fuel pressure gauge and drive around with it for a while. That way if the fuel pressure changes when you get the power drop you can igure it out easily....
