well ive been trying to find colder spark plugs for my turbo setup and i went to autozone, advanced, and napa and they all have no clue on how to read there computer to tell me if they can order colder ones. Does any one have a item number for colder NGK's? Also should i go 1 or 2 stages colder? /w a DE boosted 5-12psi?

well on are normal plugs for a ZE ppl use the BKR6E-11... the number 6 indicates the heat range so for one step colder plug u want BKR5E-11 or if this plug even exists lol BKR4E-11.. the iridiums are supposedly made for boosted apps. but i heard many ppl dont like the iridium that there engines just dont run right with them plus i just cant see spendin like 15 bux for only 2 plugs :S

Pretty sure it's the other way around, higher number will get you a colder plug.

For NGK's the higher the number is colder. For most of the other plugs out there its the lower the number the colder. I run autolites with a 2 heat rating.

I'm using NGK V-Power plugs for the 88 323 GTX (stock heat range) gapped around .030"

NGK V-Power plugs are what a LOT of Drag race teams actually use. For there reliability, low cost, extreme energy transfer capacity...they are second to none! My next choice would be Accel U-Grove plugs (an upside down V-Power design).

I've subjected my ignition setup to 26psi on pump gas for over 6,000 miles on a single set of them with no problems...they could have been regapped and used longer. The arc welder I have connected to them (Accel 300+ Digital Ignition w/ CDI coil) eat brass terminal caps about every 10,000 miles along with the rotor.

Spend your money on tuning and a hotter ignition box w/ good wires. Iridiums are a waste of money unless your using them in a car that takes hours to change the plugs. Iridium plugs can last for 100,000 miles on OEM ignition systems.
