*PLEASE HELP*

Hey, whenever I floor the car, the RPMs jump way high (4000rpm or 5000rpm) before the transmission engages (car accelerates quickly). The transmission is freshly rebuilt, and a Mazda dealership had the tranny apart to replace the actuators (I would assume they would tell me if they noticed something was wrong). I've been told from a friend that it may be the main clutch, but I do not know why it would be this since it is rebuilt... The car is also shifting kind of rough/hard. Is this normal or is there indeed a problem? Please respond ASAP, I need to get this resolved. Thanks!!

Sounds like you might be low on fluid, or its really dirty. You'd better check on that before it wrecks itself. Unfortunately if its low, it means its leaking. I would take it back to the place that rebuilt it and complain cause I've heard thats pretty expensive.

What do you mean, floor the car? As in, mash the gas pedal all the way down? Is this an automatic transmission, or a manual transmission?

If it is Automatic, I am pretty sure that most cars have a small delay from when you mash the gas pedal to it accelerating.

If it is Manual, I'd say the clutch is going bad...

clutch is slipping, if its jumping that high your clutch is about to go out, the only other thing it could be is you might have rode on your clutch a bit to much and its glazed over. either way time for a new clutch

Its an automatic. When I took it in to be saftied, they had to take the tranny apart and replace the actuators... Its going back in this coming Tuesday, so I might mention it to them... And since they had the tranny apart (we also got a tune-up), Im sure they would have checked/replaced the fluid. What is the proper way to check it? The car has to be running right? And should the tranny be at running temperature? Also, there are 4 markings. 2 notches at 20C and 2 notches at 65C. Im assuming that at running temperature, the level is supposed to be between the two notches at 65C and when cold its supposed to be between the two notches between the 20C? I really hope that its normal, because when I drive it normally, or push the pedal down slowly at first, it works great
