General complaint- warning..rant

Post by jr4wdtrbo »

<rant>
I have been a lurker for years on this group. I do my archive searches quietly and go on my merry way. I have just sold my mx-3 and have a few really great parts to sell and because of my low number of postings on this site I can not post a FS.

I have 3 Mazdas and an 02 Subaru WRX. I have a 95 Mx-3, 88 323 GTX, and a 90 Mx-5 Miata. I am a member of mx-3.com, miata.net forum, 323GTX yahoo group, 323performance.com, WNCrides.com, NASIOC.com, and a few others.

I am obviously a little more active posting on some sites than others. I understand that the moderators want to limit the amount of scams going on in the FS section but I think that limiting who can post in the FS section limits people that want to give the Mx-3.com crowd first dibs before posting on e-bay.

No offense man.. but you havent been here for years.. 1.5 years according to your join date ;) And really.. if you have been here that long.. and havent made 30 posts.. you havent tried to be part of the community at all. And while I sympathize that you may have parts others on this site may want to buy.. if you havent participated here.. why should you get a freebie?

Sorry but I really dont see why your complaining or ranting.. Its like watching the Price is Right on TV for 1.5 years and then complaining you never won anything when you never even went down to the studio and watched them film the show.

You got all the benefits of this sites knowledge.. yet you helped no one in return.. and now your complaining that you cant sell your stuff? Boo Hoo

You are absolutely right. Well almost, I didn't do or say anything that was shallow. Actually you are not right at all. I did warn in the topic that it was a rant and I have been a contributing member in the past under another name, I changed it a year and a half ago (or so.) I use to be Mx-3Power (can't remember if that was the exact spelling or not) and I have donated in the past. Although I must admit it has been a long time. But, in my defense I have not visited the site on a regular basis in a long time ether.

I think what is trying to be said is, if all you want to do is post your items for sale, go to ebay. Even though your items are Mx-3 related, this is an Mx-3 community, not ebay.

You said you just sold your Mx-3. That tells me you no longer need this forum, so you could be a scammer easily. Most scammers start off being new members, usually people with no Mx-3's. Members here are very cautious, and try to help our forum as much as the moderators. I'm one of the lucky members who were scammed, and got my money back. So, I know a little about this.

Doesn't matter how long you've been a member. It's about getting a good rep, by participating and being a good seller.

If you want to sell on this forum, follow the rules and don't whine about it. If you have a problem, go to ebay, that's what it's for. And that's all it seems you want anyway, is not to be an active member, just sell your leftover parts.

2fazed, I appreciate your feedback however I disagree. First, if you specify in the subject line "Warning...Rant" you can't complain about wining because, hey, you were warned in the subject.

I do appreciate your response. The reason I did not want to go to ebay first was because I have some really great, gently used, practically new parts that I am going to sell as a loss of a couple hundred dollars. I like to pass on stuff to fellow list members before giving it to just anyone. If you do not believe what I have said then ask for references, I guarantee someone on this forum lives right down the street. Have them come over and inspect the parts. Ask for my phone number, address. I would meet someone for lunch as long as its with in a few hrs. I like to drive so its really no big deal.

My main complaint is that I am trying to help someone out by listing here first and I get crapped on by rules that don't really help because by your own words you have been scammed in the past.

What really helps it to educate members on how to spot scams. Here is an example from the Miata forum: http://www.miata.net/classified/

on a slightly different approach...

30 posts is a largely meaningless requirement... if motivated, one could satisfy that benchmark in an hour of two without posting gibberish.

Full scale scammers will invest the time to post 30+ so as to appear legit... the random dude with parts to sell would probably get more for them on Ebay than here anyway...

So, whatcha sellin'? :D
