I just got it today. I can and will return it. Hopefully I will fare better when I pick up the BP engine.

Edit: 500 posts woohoo.

Holy Moly, yeah you gotta have that bolt hole and it is not really fixable. Return it and get a new one.

Returned. Fewww. I'm really glad I noticed it and didn't find out in a month... The engine doesn't look pretty, but, it should once I get it cleaned up and built. Just need to make sure it doesn't have anything major that can't be fixed. BP with a turbo setup, here I come. Slowly but surely :)

It's cast aluminum...you'd never know what the alloys were..but it could've been welded and retapped...

We did up a 1972 Ferrari Tractor oil-pan for a guy that was cracked and hada blown out bolt hole...It was cast-steel (had to be heat-soaked in charcol first) welded then heat-soaked until it was cold...then milled out and retapped

Took about 6 hours @ $50/hour...that's like worst case senario...

What i saw in that photo...2 hours tops...but still cheaper to just take it back :D:D
