Viability of P205/55R16 with ZX-2 Struts/Eibach Springs.

Post by tehbrookzorz »

I know it sounds odd guys, but I want to run P205/55R16 tires on a 40mm offset wheel in combination with the ZX-2 Tokicos and Eibach 1.5" drop springs.
I haven't lowered the car yet. I've got my struts, I'm waiting on the springs, and somebody gave me the tires. I just need rims.
I recognize that there is a loss in acceleration from running a taller tire/wheel combination, but am okay with that.

Has anybody run a similar combination to what I want? How did it work?

i think the rears should fit cuz there is more room between the tire and the lower spring seat but fronts might not clear the lower spring seat.

Hmm, maybe what I should do is compare the size of the stock strut 'body' with the ZX-2 one since I know that tire size will fit on the stocker. Is the actual black part of the strut the same size or is it half an inch shorter? I know that the strut is shorter overall but where is the length shaved off?
