Don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I have an air bag light that started coming on. I think it is blinking a code 3. Does anyone know what it means or what needs to be done to diag and fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

A 3-flash code is most likely a fuse that needs replacing. Possibly a low charging system also. First, measure your battery positive voltage to be sure it is putting out at least 9V. Anything less than 9V can cause the 3-flash code to activate and you would then need to check the rest of your charging system to isolate the problem and get the voltage higher.

There are any of 3 burnt fuses that can also cause the airbag 3-flash code. On the cabin fuse block, check/replace if needed, the ABS 10A (if you have one). When facing the fuse block, it is located on the right side column of fuses, one above the bottom fuse. Next, check the Engine 10A fuse, also located in the cabin fuse block, left side column of fuses, one above the bottom fuse.

Last, check the Fuel Inj 30A fuse located in the main fuse block in the engine bay. It should be clearly marked.

Post back if those things don't clear up the 3-flash. There's other stuff to check in that case. btw, the info above is straight out of the Mazda Factory Body Electrical Trouble Shooting supplemental manual. THat's the "S" section that you won't find pages for in the online shop manual.
