Probinator chip to the test

Ok we and rudy went to the drags today and tried the set ups..

my car(street radials, no rear interior.)

KL31 ECU (reset codes) + k8 vaf = 15.4

PROBINATOR CHIPPED ECU + klde vaf = 15.3

this was on 91 octane.

Now on 89 octane (rudys car, drag radials)

kl-31 ecu + k8 vaf = 15.4

PROBINATOR + klde vaf 15.6

----

reset both ecus, temp was around 65.

Altitude is at 3000 feet.

I guess probinator ecu is good

So basically the diff is .1 of a sec and its cheaper to get the probinator ecu.
If you have a kl31 ecu, well just keep using it and make that .1 of a sec elsewhere.

This is on 2 different mx3s, i got the lioghtweight flywheel but hes got the radials.

The track was not in the best condition and latitude does not help.(around less than a sec diff)

add a lot more to the mix than just a ECU, the suspenion alone on my
car is US2500.

My point is that gains are made else where, and that really this is a
nonsense post, that they are comparing apples with oranges

well this thread is about the pro binator chip.. but if you got a better one, let us know. I dont care if i pay alot but to get those times would be nice... what is your altitude?

i know there is more ways to get good hp gains else where... my car is probably WAY TO LOW.... but i guarantee you... NOT ONE PERSON ON THIS SITE OR ON THIS WORLD... will ever run the k8 computer on a boosted ze.... i know im exagerating...but we are trying to get to the bottom of the probinator chipped ecu... vs kl-31 jdm ecu... thats it... were are not arguing about suspensions .... or none o' that....

better yet.... tell me what my next step should be to break into 14s.... i got headers, intake , 2.25 exhaust... tokiko all around suspension... kl-31 ecu JE50 VAF... kl 01 cammed ZE....g force drag radials... let me know if anything is wrong with my set up.... or if i can change anything..

right i will try this again in plain english so my trans alantic cousin's
understand.

if you want gain's or to run a modified motor or a boosted motor
you need to run a aftermarket ECU! there is not point in trying to be
the worlds first in using a JDM ECU

so the likes of......

Motec
Haltec
LinkPlus
Autotronic
Wolf

You get what you pay for or what you put into your car.
TEC3 ?

kiwi can you please stop posting on this thread?? this is just a simple thread about the kl31 ecu and the probinator chip, thanks for the input tho. Nothing to do with boost susp or anything like that. No offense tho. its nice that you got a fast mx3.

Well they say ~10 WHP is equal to .1 sec....Thats kinda funny, cause when i dyno'd my ZE KL-36/JE-50 i made ~170 WHP, and with the probinator ECU/KL-02 i made ~ 180 WHP...so i can say from my personal experience it did make more HP.

you cant test a chip like this...... human error is gonna have to much play in drag racing, not to mention the other different varitables you have to take into consideration.
