BP Swap

i got a 93 mx3 1.6L SOHC. if i swap out the motor i'll put in a 90-94 protege motor and swap the tranny to manuel. Is it more money to put a different motor in it rather than buying the same one?
When putting in a protege motor, besides the ECU what else needs to be purchased?
