I'm replacing 205/55/15 with 195/60/15. I'd like to know if narrowed tires will fit on the same rims so they don't slide off or something :?

Don't worry, your switch is not dramatic enough to be hazardous. It can happen but not with the size you're talking about

Depends on the rims width. stock 6" rim it will be fine.

My rim is 7Jx15. I couldn't find actual width on the net but I think it's around 200mm. What do you think?

Well, my stock Enkeis on my 92 MX-3 GS are 6.5" wide, and I'm running P195/65R15s with no problem. They are a bit taller than the stock tire, P195/60R15s will probably be ideal, with a slight decrease in rolling resistance, and a slight reduction in grip.

You're fine cos you got 195mm tire on 165 rims.

I couldn't find what width 7J is, but it's around 200mm and my tire is 195 wide it would look silly.

Mecanic told me today that 195tire won't slip off the 200rim but it will look weird because the rim is wider :o

Today's tire technologie as greatly evolved, why bother 195...put wider...205 even 215. 7J MEANS 7 INCH wide. consult a tire guide fitement book and you will see what kind of tolerance a certain rim can accept. You will be surpise.

195 fit on 7inch rim, but yeah wider look better.
