can the underdrive pulley from the dohc work on the sohc?

You really don't want to under drive the alternator on this engine. Instead of a U/D main pulley you would be better off with over diameter P/S and W/P pulleys. Since Madza hasn't made them in at least 15 years if you do some searching around a scrapyard you can find something for another engine that will work for cheap.

Also there were issues with crank failure with the early small snout cranks. There should have been no issues with the large snout cranks but at least on manufacture of the U/D pulley for the B series engines suspended sales of this product and another has written a disclaimer saying that they will not be responsible for crank failure on the Mazda B5/B6 and BP engines even with the big snout cranks.

thats dumb, so do you have an exact model and motor i can get these pulleys off of? and wich pulleys?

Yes, the DOHC pulley will fit the SOHC. I used to have it on my SOHC and it worked perfectly. Now I have it in my BP.
