hey guys, does anyone know where I can get some turbo gaskets for a vj-11 turbo? I called Ford and they said discontinued... Can I use high temp silicone or any kind of gasket material?

Corksport may have them.
http://www.corksport.com

You can also cut gaskets from Stainless Steel Sheet metal. It is best if you have a bead roller to roll a bead into the metal around the orface your trying to seal. If the gasket surfaces aren't flat enough to seal with a flat sheet metal gasket you can have the surfaces machined and then it will work fine.

Also, the High temp gasket maker will burn out.

i cut some out of aluminum and just sprayed it with copper spray, and it was great well over a year and a half untill i got a real one. the part is not discontinued. they just dont know how to look it up. Corksport normally has them rite on the shelf. if they dont they can give you the part number and you can call a good MAZDA dealer and pick one up. it cost about 25 bucks.

I got a hold of some gasket material today that is used to make the exhaust gaskets on many different applications. it has metal on both sides, and some material inbetween. also has perferations. I found it best to cut with a die grinder and also a cutoff wheel. looks like the same stuff they use to make the gaskets in most turbo kits. got a nice big sheet for $10... took like an hour and a half to make the gaskets!!! painstakingly sloooow...

A place called gasket engineering in Kansas city.. I took all they had.. I also found some stuff that had metal in the center and graphite on each side, but I don't think it would have been as strong.. everseal gasket had that stuff..

It would be sweet if I could find sheets of dead soft copper to cut gaskets out of!
