Sweet, what is your cold advance set at?

Btw, want to share how you were able to get it to control the timing? :D

idle advance is at 6 degrees btdc you need to run msns extra and use the hall input sensor circuit as well as eather a high current ignition driver circuit or wire it to use some type of igition modual, in my case the msd 6a.

going to try to work on it some tomorow, i still dont have a tps, as i busted the bolts in my tb.

getting there tho. gonna try to get a base tune on it tomorow, il let you know.

as for now, im just happy i proved that it will work with the stock mazda sensors.

so just a bit of a update, i learned 2 things today.

1) the tps from the SOHC ATX does not fit the tb from the SOHC MTX (different tps sensor compleatly ATX = analog MTX = digital the megasquirt requires the analog sensor.

2) (i allready knew this but) Old bolts tend to break when taking them out.

needless to say the trottle body is now on my desk, waiting for me to take it to the machine shop at school to make an adapter to make the ATX TPS fit, aswell as remove the broken screw from the MTX TPS.

oh well.

i bet your idle problem is because you aren't using the idle air control valve. even if you have already wired it up it won't work because the MS&S doesn't know when the engine is at 0% throttle because you have no TPS.

P.S. your MS&S may not run your IACV very well even when it is working "correctly"

no, the iac is not hooked up right now, im trying to avoid using it if possible, but it looks like i might have to use it.

and i had the tps hooked up to the megasquirt, just not to the tb, so it read 0% the whole time.

what happens when you lean out the fuel at idle? the rpms drop and the car dies?

yep

starts running awfull then dies. with about a 2.3 ms pulse width i can get it to idle smoothly at 1200 rpm and 30kpa of manifold vaccume.

well i took if for a drive today, got everything working, figgured out that 2 of my injectors where not firing for seme reason.
fixed it.

so then i took it out data logging. got a REALLY basic cruse tune on it.

was sitting ata stop sign down the street updating the o2 correction settings and all of a sudden it just stalled, no reason at all.

tried cranking it, no rpm signal, pushed the car home, and cant figgure it out.

ive tried replacing the pullup resistor for the hall sensor and still the same problem. ugh

anyways, its about to rain so i think im done for this weekend.

and for some reason when ever i post on msefi.com i never get any reponces. none at all. its like, the things out to kill me or something. anyways. if anyone has any idea tell me! its not the hall sensor, it runs fine on the factory ecu.
